Frequently asked questions
Burning questions? The answer should be below
I've never done pilates before, where should I start?
Great news! You don’t need any experience to start. Pilates at Stoked is for every body, whether you’re brand new to movement or already training regularly.
All new clients start with our Reformer Introduction class. This is where you’ll learn the machine, understand the set ups and get comfortable moving. It’s designed to build confidence so you can step into the rest of the timetable knowing exactly what you’re doing.
From there, you can move into the broader schedule depending on how you want to train. Reformer Restore is slower and mobility focused, Reformer Build is strength based, and Reformer Charge is higher energy and more athletic.
We’ll guide you on what to book next. You don’t need to have it all figured out before you walk in.
What happens in my first class?
If you’re completely new to Pilates, we recommend starting with our Reformer Introduction class. This session is designed to walk you through the machine, set ups and key movements so you feel confident stepping into any class.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your class to check in with your instructor, store your belongings and get set up on a reformer. Your instructor will guide you through the equipment, explain spring settings and make any adjustments to suit your body.
From there, you’ll be taken through a full body class focused on control, strength and quality of movement. Everything is coached, with options to adjust exercises to suit your body.
You don’t need to know anything before you walk in. Just bring grip socks and a towel or reformer mat. If you need them, we sell both in the studio.
What if I'm not fit or strong?
That’s exactly why you should start.
You don’t need to be fit or strong before coming to Stoked. This is where you build it.
We meet you where you are and tailor the resistance, spring choices and exercise options to suit your body. You’ll be challenged at the right level for you, whether you’re just starting out or already training regularly.
Strength and fitness aren’t a prerequisite. They’re the outcome.
How many times per week should I come?
It depends on your goals, but for most people, 2 to 3 classes per week is the sweet spot. This is where you’ll start to build real strength, improve control and see consistent progress.
If you’re just starting out, begin with 2 classes per week and build from there. As your strength and confidence grow, you can increase your sessions as it suits your routine.
Our memberships are designed around this, making it easy to stay consistent without overthinking it.
Consistency is what drives results. After your first week, you’ll notice better energy, sleep and overall feel. Around 3 weeks in, you’ll feel stronger and more in control of your movement. By 6 weeks, you’ll start to see visible changes in strength and muscle definition. Keep going, and those results continue to build.
If you’re enjoying it and want more, you can always increase your sessions.
What Should I Bring?
Grip socks and a towel or reformer mat are required for all classes. Grip socks are essential for safety and hygiene, and if you don’t have them, you can purchase socks and mats in the studio. Everything else is provided, including all equipment and props, so you can just focus on your workout. Bring a water bottle if you like, you can refill it at the studio.

I'm seeing waitlisted classes, can I still get in?
Yes. Waitlists move more than you think, so it’s always worth joining.
If a spot opens up, you’ll be automatically added into the class and notified. Waitlists can move with short notice, including overnight for early morning classes, so it’s important to keep an eye on your schedule or remove yourself if you can no longer attend.
Joining a waitlist means you’re committing to attend if you’re added in. The same cancellation policy applies, including the 6 hour cancellation window, $10 late cancellation fee and $15 no-show fee.
All bookings and cancellations are self-managed through your account via the website or app.
For full details, please see our Booking and Cancellation Policy.
Can I attend if I am pregnant or injured?
Yes, with the right guidance.
Pregnant clients can attend all regular classes without modification up to 14 weeks. After 14 weeks, classes can still be attended with appropriate modifications. Reformer Charge is not suitable after 14 weeks of pregnancy.
All instructors are trained to provide pregnancy and injury modifications, and will guide you through options to suit your body.
We are also planning to introduce dedicated pre and postnatal, as well as Parents and Cubs classes as our timetable expands.
If you’re pregnant or managing an injury, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before starting and letting your instructor know before class.
As always, listen to your body and move within your limits.
Can I pause or cancel my membership?
